We say Brazil, and you immediately think Sepultura, Angra, or even Volcano: it’s no surprise that South America’s biggest country regularly delivers some of the world’s biggest metal bands.
If you’re not a fan yet, let us introduce you to ThemalefiK: definitely one of the more heavier and darker bands to step from the shadows in the Brazilian metal scene.
Current members as per their last work and single “Against the Nazarene” (video below), are Claudio Monteiro (vocals), Francisco Monteiro (Guitar and Vocals), Fernando Trops (Drums) and Fabio Falco (Bass). Claudio also oversaw the recording and mixing.
ThemalefiK was formed by Claudio in 1993. At a young age, he listened to a lot of heavy metal coming from the United States and Europe, and found it comparable to the music being produced in Brazil at the time.
With an affinity to Death- and Black-Metal, Claudio realised that this was the genre where he would like lay his musical roots in. After inviting some friends to join ThemalefiK, they have been going strong for more than 23 years of brutal metal.
Definitely on the darker side of the spectrum, they see describe their sound as such:
We are a band of extreme music, death metal, black metal and everything that is wrong, new and old in the world, and we will expose this in our lyrics.
It seems to be a sensitive topic when broaching what life is like as a Brazilian band, with limited resources and opportunities, but the band seems positive in their outlook, with plans to play shows in Europe and the U.S. Claudio alluded to a few beautiful projects in the pipeline for this year with the band definitely seeking new horizons outside of Brazil.
The music for us is something like a manifestation of our thoughts and intellect; something for the world to share, to donate to, to interact with, and to invest your thoughts in.
We’re really excited to work with ThemalefiK on their expansion to other territories, and feel that Kartweel will be a great tool for them. They joined the insider program, and we implore you to become more acquainted with them on their channels below.

THEMALEFIK - Conheça uma das referências brasileiras do Black/Death Metal, que vem se destacando no mercado externo

Extremamente indicado para os amantes da música extrema, a banda Themalefik executa um excelente Black/ Death Metal sem frescura, apresentando uma boa dose de criatividade. Formada na década de 90, na cidade de Osasco/SP, a banda já é uma veterana no Underground nacional, com um principal objetivo, expor e elevar o conceito da música extrema ao mundo, demonstrando a força do Metal brasileiro. Por mais que banda tenha sofrido alguns ajustes na formação, diante a esses anos de trajeto de estrada, o Themalefik sempre se manteve firme e carregando o seu nome e suas vertentes pelo universo musical. A banda em si tem alguns registros de trabalho, sendo elas 3 Demos, uma Compilação, um álbum Live e mais um Ep de sete faixas e uma Single de trabalho registrada em 2014. Então, com a banda seguindo seu caminho com uma nova formação, se depararam com a marca Holandesa Miceli Music Entertanment Inc, que assinaram uma parceria de lançamento mundial em venda digital do Ep Your Belief.
Este mesmo projeto com sete faixas que foram gravadas e mixadas pela própria banda no Conspiracy Records, no Brasil, mas não tendo uma distribuição física em nosso País. Este mesmo registro na verdade é um grande apanhado de suas composições que estiveram presentes dentro de alguns mecanismos citados acima no texto, inclusive estes projetos estão na plataforma Reverbnation, onde o seu último Single “Against the Nazarene”, que também está presente nos dando uma prévia do novo projeto que carregará o título de Gates of Hell, ainda sem uma data definida para o lançamento. O que nos basta é aguardar por novidades futuras. Então, vamos nos divertindo com as composições presentes na plataforma, sendo elas: “Against the Nazarene”, repleta de saraivada de riffs cortantes, pois as nuances do Black Metal e da vertente Death Metal são perceptíveis e bem encaixadas, e, justamente a canção que faz a prévia de seu futuro lançamento.
A seguinte fica por conta de “Malefic Sect”, essa já tem uma levada bem extrema, puxada mais na linha Black Metal (remetendo um pouco de Sarcófago). Na próxima temos “Your Belief”, que tem um começo bem soturno, com uma condução mais cadenciado e groovado, dando um clima bem atmosférico na evolução da canção. Agora a audição fica de uma canção cantada em português, falo de “Vida (life)”, a mesma é uma porradeira de mão cheia, suas mensagens estão bem audíveis. Outra bem climática do registro é “Fear of The Touch”, aqui as raízes estão literalmente fincado no Black Metal, os riffs gélidos e sombrios estão presentes, fora a bateria que cospe uma saraivada de balas. Em seguida vem a “Master of the Torment”, a canção é calçada nas vertentes do Black e Death Metal. É novamente a música negra que se faz presente em “From the Ashes of the Apocalypse”, que tem um uma levada bem (Old School). E, para fechar os registro temos outra porrada que fica a cargo de “Grandiose Side”.
Bom galera, na verdade este texto, foi desenvolvido em cima de um trabalho registrado na “ReverbNation” pela banda Themalefik, e, nós do Metal no Papel temos a certeza que a banda tem um belo potencial para agradar àqueles que ainda não os conhece, e aquele que já se agradará mais ainda, tenho certeza.
